Colossal Crusade rated  Average
On first hindsight, this board is outstanding. The addition of Supercontinents is a good expansion of the original board, while also having a quite large number of territories that easily allow for quite fun large games. I just can't give higher than 6 stars.

The Default version of this board has a lot of flaws that many of the beginner friendly boards don't have, most particularly the card scale progression, its really bad that doesn't do this board justice. Turtling is a common strategy in it, and you can't comfortably snowball, because of the lack of additional units, which will make you an instant target. You can't really do anything until someone makes a mistake, and being very aggressive early on is quite a high risk/mid-low reward ratio that it's just not ideal. Avoid playing default.

However, most of the issues are partially mitigated with the Solar version. the card progression isn't actually bogus unlike default, which actually makes this board fun somewhat. You can even add in fog in Solar. but overall, it could be way better with a fully progressive scenario instead of clinging to only having a max of 30 troops on the highest set.

Unfortunately, even the map has its issues. The biggest problem with the map is the awful low number of chokepoints and many one way territories, most evident in the Caribbean territories, Russian Islands and most importantly, the Middle East. While it prevents snowballs by diverting resources from one territory to another, these borders feel poorly made. For a map this size, it needed more chokepoints.

Not all is bad with this map though. I do like giving credit to this board, because it synergizes absolutely well with Team games, and therefore, is a great map for team-based tournaments. The fact that you can reinforce your allies is a game changer and completely shifts the entire strategy of this board, and makes it more fun in the end. This alone saved it from being 4 stars at worst.

The small player versions of the map are not better though, Seat 1 has a gigantic advantage, a bad 69%, which means 2 thirds of all CC duels end in Seat 1's victory. I would appreciate a scenario with strategic or no neutrals.

Fantastic board, but in my opinion it's my least favorite board of this site; i barely found fun playing this map except during the ocassional team tournament. it has that issue of leaving a lot to be desired, but does not deliver to such.

War Of The Roses rated  Perfect
Beautifully made map that does not require any straight aggressiveness in order to dominate; strategy is the name of the game with this board. Many moves can lead you to victory, which is pretty simple to formulate and execute.

Graphics-wise its also beautiful, simplistic and self explanatory, it can easily be one of the best boards to help explaining what WarGear is meant to be in a wider scale.

This board is all about going for it at the right time, with the right luck & numbers needed.

World War rated  Superb
A really good board which is a better expansion to the original. The addition of Supercontinents scoping an overall region adds a twist that allows for a better strategic outcome on what should be prioritized.

It does have a bit of a flaw: Seat 1 in 2 player duels often has an advantage, albeit not a huge one (about 63% of the time) which most of the time boils down to getting lucky with first turn continent bonuses. You could end up with 21 units from getting both Continental USA and Western Europe, which is an instant nail in the coffin for Seat 2.

But the real reason its 9 stars for me is the very wonderful synergy with large player games. The winner can easily come from anywhere from the map, EVEN while bunkering in 1 or 2 territories, and thanks to the card scale progression (which ends at a comfortable 51 in this map), strategic aggressiveness can often win you the game. Many times i have seen beautiful gameplay on 16 player games that won the game by strategically pinpointing the location of everyone on the map.

It's simplistic yet also strategic, it's enjoyable.

Global Warfare rated  Good
While the Graphics are seemingly worse from a pure standpoint, its what WarGear Warfare should aspire to be with the large number of scenarios available to the player.

EDIT - Downgrading from 9 to 7.. Times 20 scenario is perhaps the worst scenario out of any board on WG. Duels must be avoided because Seat 1 always wins the match, and large maps are not fun either. It's just a non-strategic, spammy way to play the game.

This board is nothing short of a masterpiece for its purpose, 1v1 dueling. Note, this only applies to the Sequel variant of this board and NOT for the Classic.

First of all, it's one of the VERY FEW boards which has a better Seat 2 winning factor, mostly because its balanced around the fact that it has to deal with easier bullets + gets more overall reserves than Seat 1. This pretty much leaves the only annoying feat being the dice luck, but it's a common problem almost all boards face anyway.

It's easy to learn but you have to think strategically on what you should do following the bullet phase, there can be many options out there that could benefit your game.

You have to be very quick though, the turns are really fast! Therefore its realistically recommended for Real-Time gameplay, as anything above 1 day is just too unfeasible for a game of this magnitude.

Texas rated  Great
Texas-style version of the classic gametype. It has a gargantuan number of territories suited for mostly big games. The difference that separates this from other basic boards is that there are no chokepoints, it represents a big arena-style Battle Royale.

However, some of the player colors of this map are too similar and often leads to confusion.

Civil War rated  Superb
I think i have been too harsh on this board in the past.

There are a few differences from this map that require a completely different mindset, most notably the fact you can return to both Unit Placement and Attacking. This warps your strategy in regards of what should be an immediate priority.

Even though this map is ridiculously large, its surprisingly good for 1v1 duels, having a better seat 2 winning factor than most of the classic boards, with the rate being a bit lower if not similar to Wargear Warfare.

But the real winner with this board is with large games, its fantastic for what it does. There are too many posibilities to build, expand and conquer, the natural terrain adds yet another element of preparation, cities adding individual bonuses also brings situational awareness to the table, etc.

My only negative point is that some of the state continents feel underpowered because most of the time the army units come from territory count & cities anyway. Regardless, its an outstanding board.

Honestly i don't know about this map. If it wasn't for the fact this map has no neutral territories, it would have been a straight carbon copy of WarGear Warfare.

Expanding Europe rated  Great
Overall a great basic upgrade anyone can enjoy. I would've preferred the maritime borders to be more noticeable, especially the Africa to Middle East ones, but its a minor hindrance that it's not that big of a deal.

The game is best with a large group. Card Scale progression is decent that prevents stalling tactics and the continent bonuses are well balanced to reflect each one's position in the map.

European War rated  Superb
Wonderful map to play, specially on a foggy version of it. It also works pretty well on Non-Foggy scenarios but theres far too many chokepoints on this map so there usually is too much stalling scenarios on big boards.

The borders could use a little more precision on which province is it going, such as the Leinster - Western England border, but i enjoyed it nonetheless.

Scenario 5 is the best scenario of the bunch, because it rewards more aggressive gameplay over a defensive one overtime.

Far too many inconsistencies and mishaps is what i found about this map. Europe doesnt connect to Scandinavia so theres no way of recovering that part except by making a full turn through another continent, theres FAR too many continent imbalancing (Middle East gets 7 units for 6 territories while Latin America gets 5 for 12, ????) and some of the borders just dont make sense (Arabia doesnt border Africa, which is crucial considering Middle East's power in this map, the aforementioned Europe, the sea bridge on Spain and France is not needed since they already touch each other, etc) or are simply too thin, thus creating a lot of chokepoints (Africa-Europe, Africa-Asia, South America - Antarctica, etc).

I do like the concept but feels a bit incomplete.

WarGear Warfare rated  Good
What's to say about the original? the root of every game on this site comes from the RL version of this board.

However, i dont recommend playing this one very repetitively. After all, theres +400 boards out there that are way much fun than this one. Invention far outstrips it for replayability.

It's a good board, but not the best representation of a balanced USA. while New England's problem is solved with the coastline issue, that leaves the West intact, and owning the entire west rewards you with as many units as NE. plus its very solid defenses consolidate it as the powerhouse of the map.

Non-foggy games are also very ridiculous and stalling, as 90% of the clear games i've spótted theres always 4-5 people having almost 500 units each. Do not recommend for No Fog, works well with Medium+ fog.

This map made me so nostalgic as i was making constant mazes and mazes during a point in my life.

Not only im enjoying playing this board, but it also involves quite a heavy ammount of strategy, because of the numerous corridors you have to navigate to reach even the most remote places. its incredible.

Only played it 3 times, but its the only board im impressed with in everything; Design, Replayability, and overall personal experience. It's the best board on WarGear hands down.

Not one of my favorites i would say. this board has a HUGE advantage for first movement in a small game, which makes tournaments rely on only turn placement rather than either strategy or luck. Not to mention the French Flag in the background feels like an eyesore when looking at it a lot.

Just a random hordes map with more twists, like potential extra units for some states.

This map feels like heavily incomplete tho, which is a bummer. seeing how you need to hold California for the Florida bonus (which makes no sense, seeing as they don't touch each other at all), feels like it needs more work than usual.

Yes, it may be the only map i hold some score on, but i can't deny it has its problems, and it far outstrips its pros.

good board overall, however, games in this board tend to take ages to complete. After getting continents its all about stalling games and seeing who messes up to gain an upper hang.
